A Night Out on The Town

Can you believe it is already the 6th day of March? Slow down 2013, is what I'm thinking! This past weekend, a few of my really good friends came to town for a weekend visit. I love having them as guests and always look forward to the memories we will make together, because we always do ;) We decided to have a night out on the town in celebration of us all being together. I didn't hesitate for one second when it came to what I would wear, because I recently made a trip to the mall. I accidentally stumbled upon a pair of shoes I couldn't live without. Not to mention, they were a heck of a steal! But I'll tell you more about that in a minute. After I picked up the shoes, I knew immediately how I should style them.

I really like to consider this look very "House of Harlow 1960" (Nicole Riche's jewelry and accessory line) inspired. While this statement necklace is not a piece of hers, it reminds me a lot of her collection. Paired with a dark top, these smoldering heels, and a bold lip, everything flows together!

Back to my shoe story! A week or so ago, I was browsing one of my favorite style blogs, Lily's Style, and saw in one of her newest looks, the most sexy and stunning wedges I'd seen in a while. These pointed toe, burgundy wedges are currently sold on Sole Society for $59.99. I had originally planned to purchase them, but when I made a trip to the mall, I ironically came across a pair of heels so similar, yet different, to the pair I wanted. These heels also just so happened to be on the clearance rack with an ADDITIONAL 70% off the lowest price, resulting in my new beauties only costing me a whopping $18!!! There was no way I could pass that up!

What looks inspire you for a night on the town?

Hot for Pink! {nail of the day}

After a series of neutral and dark nails, I decided to change it up. Fancy Fuchsia by Orly is by far one of my favorite polish colors for hands AND feet. This color can be found on my toes almost all summer long. I love this pink because it is neon and fun, but not juvenile.

What are some of your all time favorite polishes?

A Wintery-Wednesday OOTD

Just as I was beginning to think the winter weather was coming to a close and spring was ready to be sprung, we got a blizzard. Even though I have been suffering with this spring fever, I was pleasantly pleased with this snow event that took place yesterday. It gave me the opportunity to take the day off and do a few things on my to-do list.

Getting ready this morning was no task! I knew exactly what I wanted to wear. Cue the cozy sweater. :) Chunky sweaters are great for layering up after a beautiful snowfall. I love the tribal pattern on this sweater, as well as the cut. It's so easy to throw on and wear. This sweater is versatile too! You could wear this with leggings for a cozy day around the house or even jazz it up with some faux leather pants and some chunkier earrings.

Ipsy- February Glam Bag Reveal

Last month, after hearing about this from several beauty vloggers, I decided to join Ipsy. Each month, you are charged just $10 for a fun bag containing 5 new deluxe makeup samples to try. This month, the theme was "Red Carpet Ready". While I was very excited to receive my very first Glam Bag, I felt that this months samples were not as generous compared to what I saw people reveal last month. However, I still will be using a few of these products! :)

1) The Pixi Flawless & Poreless primer creates a beautiful no-shine finish for flawless, long-lasting makeup application. This shine controlling, oil-free primer smooths out fine lines and hydrates while making pores instantly disappear. It is the perfect skin primer for all complexions and all skin types.

2) Coastal Scents Shadow Palette Samples are an ideal way to try these highly pigmented, stunning shadows. These miniature-sized samples contain four hand-selected shades by ipsy, making it easy to create a variety of looks. Wear these pressed powders dry or wet for a more intense, dramatic look.

3) This lash-POP-ing mascara makes lashes plump, long and lusciously flirty! Smudge proof formula adds volume while curling lashes up and out for a look that truly POPs your peepers!

4) Define eyes and apply eyeliner like a pro with the MicaBeauty Gel Eyeliner! This smooth, highly pigmented gel eyeliner glides over the lid evenly and dries quickly for a long-wearing, smudge-proof finish.

5) Apply your mascara perfectly with the Lash Card! Say goodbye to smudging, clumping, and messy mascara application. The Lash Card has two curves on each side that fit a variety of eye shapes, making it easy to get those hard-to-reach lashes.

These five items came in a small patent bag with red lining.

NOTD

Even though spring is right around the corner, I still have been loving dark neutrals on my nails. I like to think it gives off some sort of sophistication. I also have this color painted on my toes right now, (which is rare to have them match) and I am loving it!

This color is Smokin' Hot by Essie.
